Company's Leadership on Major Projects, Including the U.S. Army's Joint Network Node Program, Adds Key Insights to NCOIC Efforts

Duluth, Ga., August 22, 2006 - DataPath Inc., a provider of satellite and wireless communications networks around the world, today announced that it has joined the executive council of the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (NCOIC) as a tier-one member of the organization. In this position, DataPath assumes a leadership role among major prime defense contractors and 80 other industry-leading companies working to standardize best practices for network-centric applications.

"DataPath is well-known for deploying tactical, IP-based satellite communications platforms, particularly for the U.S. military in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Dr. Kevin J. Reardon, NCOIC executive director. "DataPath's contributions to the NCOIC will help us develop an interoperable information structure for front-line personnel and first responders more efficiently and effectively."

The NCOIC was formed in August 2004 as a partnership of premier leaders in the aerospace, defense, IT, systems integrator and services industries. The Consortium acts as a resource on the transformation to network-centric operations and works to provide a set of tools that enable the development of network-centric capabilities and products.

"In our role as the prime contractor for the satellite communications portion of the JNN and other programs, DataPath works side-by-side in the field with the U.S. military," said Alan Carson, vice president of strategic sales for DataPath, and the company's representative to the NCOIC executive council. "We're experienced at deploying network-centric applications in the most challenging situations, and we look forward to sharing our experience and expertise in improving situational awareness and mission effectiveness for the warfighter. We will work closely with the NCOIC to provide guidance and support to continue progress and collaboration in network-centric operations."
